Nanaimo is always such a treat: a sleepy island lifestyle with all the major amenities at its disposal and the city hubbub just beyond reach.

Our first evening in town was spent catching the sunset at Rathtrevor Beach, accompanied by a resident family of rabbits in the grassy brush between the forest and the beach itself.  Although this Fall has been extremely mild thus far, we were able to enjoy a fire in the cottage at night.

We explored beaches and harbours, waterfalls and tide pools, finishing off the adventure with a magnificent afternoon around Cameron Lake.
