A Day In Muskoka: Our Local Holiday Event Guide For What’s Left Of 2022

Much of the holiday fun lies in our very human delight in spending time with our closest friends and family members. Don’t just take our word for it. It’s been scientifically proven that the value of shared experiences, meaningful relationships and social connectedness is linked to our overall happiness and well-being.

In the spirit of creating long-lasting bonds with others—both familiar and strange—read how we like to spend a day in Muskoka’s festive splendor and get inspired to spend quality moments with your loved ones before 2022 ends.

Stand Out By Giving Back To Muskoka Women’s Shelter & The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation

End-of-year festivities often demand us to channel main character energy with standout party looks and over-the-top gatherings. Remember planning your entire Christmas outfit a month in advance last year and scoring way too many Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals? Not too sustainable if you ask us.

This year we decided to do things differently. Last November, our Muskoka flagship store traded pre-loved clothing donations for Black Friday deals on our customers’ Wolfe Co. Apparel purchases. Give To Get Black Friday was a month-long conscious effort towards a more sustainable planet and helping Muskoka Women’s Shelter and the Table Soup Kitchen Foundation.

As you prepare for a day out in Muskoka, stop for a second, visit your wardrobe, and pick out a pair of pre-loved winter jackets you’re no longer using to give to Muskoka Women’s Shelter. Before you leave home, consider donating fresh, frozen and non-perishable food from your fridge to the Table Soup Kitchen Foundation.

Our campaign might be done and over by now, but giving and helping others has no time limit!

With WolfeCoApparel.com, Sharing (and Shopping) Is Caring For Canadian Wildlife

Muskoka is home to a wide variety of wildlife: moose, black bear, white-tailed deer, grizzlies, to name a few. Our town’s beautiful fields and vast lakes will have you wandering for hours, but visitors and locals will find bountiful wildlife spotting adventures all around.

Last month’s Give To Get Black Friday didn’t shy away from our online shoppers. Customers had the option of adding one of three monetary donations to their carts and applying a discount to their order. In turn, 100% of their online donation benefited one of Pacific Wild's four campaigns: Save BC Wolves, Protect Pacific Herring, Protect Pacific Salmon and Great Bear Rainforest Conservation.

Pacific Wild works all year long to support innovative research, public education, community outreach and raising conservation awareness to achieve the goal of lasting environmental protections for the lands and waters of the Great Bear Rainforest and throughout the wild Pacific Northwest.

While planning your outdoor wildlife viewing escapades in Muskoka, think of making a positive impact to its natural habitats.

Get Hands On With Our Flagship Store’s Mitten Tree

Figuring out what to wear when spending a day out in Muskoka is simple but requires many layers in order to keep warm and toasty for long periods of time. Temperatures around here can get down as low as -5°C to -20°C (or an average daily high temperature below 34°F).

After a day out exploring the majestic scenery the town has to offer, head to Downtown Huntsville and visit Wolfe Co. Apparel’s flagship store on 38 Main St E for premium Canadian-made clothing. While there, take a peek at our Mitten Tree.

Since November, we have asked our customers to bring in mittens as donations or purchase mitts in store to hang on the tree. All mitts will be donated to the Muskoka Women’s Shelter for women and children in need this winter.

You’re In For A Holiday Treat When You Hit Main Street

Muskoka is a sprawling town where you’ll find enchanting attractions throughout the festive winter season.

The Santa Claus Parade, presented by The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Rotary Club is another popular gathering among Muskoka residents. It typically runs in November during the evening, allowing spectators to enjoy a magical, illuminated parade.
